National Summer Transportation Institute (NSTI)

California State University, Fresno shall host a non-residential National Transportation Institute (NSTI) program, through the Fresno State Summer Transportation (FSST) program. The program will host 30 middle school students for two weeks and will be focused on sparking interest in careers in transportation among middle school students with a STEM focus. California State University, Fresno has significant experience in education and outreach activities serving minority, low-income, and diverse groups of people.

The NSTI program will be attended by the selected participants from June 12, 2023 through June 23, 2023 from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

During the two-week-long program, students will have the opportunity to participate in hands-on activities, learn about different modes of transportation, and engage in group projects with their peers. Experienced instructors will lead students through a variety of engaging lessons, including racetrack design, bridge-building, and even 3-D Printing. Students will also take part in field trips to local transportation facilities and meet professionals in the transportation industry. This camp is free of charge and open to all 6-8 graders passionate about transportation and engineering. We encourage all interested students to apply, as spaces are limited.
