Dr. Aly Tawfik, Professor of Civil Engineering in the Lyles College of Engineering, is the Institute’s founding Director. Dr. Tawfik has nearly 20 years in the field of transportation systems engineering, with specific experience in modeling, simulation, and optimization of transportation systems as well as numerous projects involving transportation planning, transit design, traffic simulation and design, Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), and autonomous vehicles.

Thaliyah Sosa

Thaliyah Sosa is from Firebaugh, California and currently serves as an Administrative Assistant with the Fresno State Transportation Institute (FSTI). Studying music at Fresno State, she brings a diverse background in clerical and front desk work, including experience with Fresno State Housing, various musical ensembles, and at her local City Hall.

Thaliyah is happy to be part of the FSTI team and looks forward to contributing to the institute’s work and supporting its ongoing operations.
