About Fresno State Summer Art Camp

The FSTI Summer Art Camp is scheduled to take place on:
July 21, 2025 through July 25, 2024 from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

The Fresno State Transportation Institute, in collaboration with local transportation partners, will host a week-long summer art camp for middle school students that explores the intersection of art, transportation, and community engagement. This unique program provides students with opportunities to express their creativity through a variety of visual arts while learning about the role of transportation in shaping cities, cultures, and sustainability.

Some planned events include sessions on the role of transportation in art and science, including topics like community relations, public policies, and materials science. Hands-on activities include self-portrait projects in 2D and 3D, clay modeling, t-shirt painting, and a creative intersection-building challenge. Students will also collaborate on a Transportation Art Challenge, which combines teamwork and design thinking to address transportation themes through artistic expression.

Field trips to the Fresno State Art Gallery and the Downtown Mural District will give students firsthand exposure to public and street art, while a fun bowling social will provide time to bond. The week concludes with student presentations, awards, and a celebration showcasing their completed artwork.

The full agenda for this camp will be posted at a later date on this webpage and our social media.
