Service To Community
Dr. Mohammad Teymouri delivered a public lecture to members of the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at Colorado State University. OLLI is a national membership-based organization dedicated to lifelong learning for adults aged 50 and above, offering educational
programs across diverse disciplines in a relaxed, non-competitive environment. The
presentation focused on concrete corrosion and the impact of de-icing chemicals on
infrastructure durability and public safety. Dr. Teymouri discussed how winter maintenance
practices influence long-term pavement and bridge performance, the economic implications
of material deterioration, and emerging strategies to improve resilience in cold climates.
The session promoted active discussion and reflected his commitment to translating
infrastructure research into practical knowledge for the broader community.
