Karana Hattersley-Drayton, M.A. joined the faculty of the Lyles College of Engineering
in fall 2021 in the Construction Management Program. She has a B.A., M.A. and completed
3 years of coursework in Architecture History at the University of California Berkeley.
Ms. Drayton moved to Fresno in 1999 to work as an architectural historian for Caltrans
District 06. In 2002 she was hired by the City of Fresno and served as the Historic
Preservation Officer until January 2017. Prior teaching experience included California
State University Sonoma and for the OSHER program at Fresno State. Drayton has served
on the Board of Directors for the Vernacular Architecture Forum and as a member of
the California State Historical Resources Commission. In addition to teaching, Ms.
Drayton consults on local and regional CEQA and Section 106 projects.
