Construction Management
Student Awards and Scholarships
Construction Management
The CM Program presents several awards to students. Two of the newest awards are the Emerging Construction Leader Award and the Developing Construction Leader Award. These awards recognize the students that demonstrate a high level of leadership skills.
The Lyles College of Engineering provides numerous opportunities for scholarships for students. During the last academic year, the college awarded over $55,000 in scholarships, of which, nearly $10,000 went to Construction Management students.
A recent award that was received by the department in 2015 was a $100,000 help grant from The National Housing Endowment. This was provided for our curriculum to develop a residential tract, helping our students to gain more field experience.
In addition to awards and scholarships, the program has recently started the Leaders in Construction Development Program. This program presents students with the opportunity to improve their leadership skills by actively leading other students within the program. The program is structured to set students up for success, so that they can improve the overall quality of the CM Program. This program was piloted during the 2010-2011 academic year. The intent is to offer some form of this program to all students in the future.
