After receiving his Ph.D. from the University of New Brunswick, Dr. Berber began working as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Civil Engineering at Toronto Metropolitan University in Toronto, ON, Canada. After having seven long winters in Canada, he moved to Florida and worked as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Civil, Environmental and Geomatics Engineering at Florida Atlantic University. In 2014, he joined the Department of Civil and Geomatics Engineering at California State University, Fresno as an Assistant Professor and currently serves as a full Professor.

So far, at CSU Fresno Dr. Berber has served on 19 committees at program, department, college, and university level. He has published three books/monographs, numerous journal papers and many conference proceedings.

Dr. Berber is licensed by Professional Engineers of Ontario, Canada. He is an International Professional Engineer, IntPE(Canada). He is a Professional Engineer in Nevada. He is also a Professional Land Surveyor in Nevada.
