Professor Banks (Christi) is a lecturer in the Construction Management Department
in the Lyles College of Engineering. Christi is also the faculty advisor of the
Lyles College of Engineering Bluebeam User Group (BUG) and the Commercial Construction
Team for the ASC and ABC Competitions. She is a department alumni and has been teaching
for over six years. She has over 30 years of combined experience as a professor,
industry expert/trainer and small business owner in the construction Industry.
Christi was awarded the Exceptional Service to Students Award in 2021 for her student’s
development of the “Bluebeam User Group Speaker Series” which provides industry speakers
to the Lyles College of Engineering throughout the academic year. Christi, also,
supported her students in obtaining the “Bluebeam Standout BUG of the Year in 2022”
and “ABC National Building Team Awards of 2nd Place Overall, 2nd Place in Project Management and 3rd Place in Estimating in 2023”.
In addition to her academic focus, Christi is the principal owner of Creative Planning
Solutions (DBE / WBE / SBE in California) with expertise in the areas of master scheduling
(including proposal development, baseline development, schedule monitoring and control,
and time impact analyses), claims avoidance and analysis, dispute resolution, project
engineering and management, and document control. She has collaborated with private
contractors, owners, attorneys and public agencies throughout the United States in
the areas of heavy building construction, heavy civil construction, high-end residential
and commercial projects.
