According to a report by the American Electronics Association, a shortage of electrical and computer engineers is projected for the next several years; it is anticipated that computer engineering positions will increase more than any other major profession. New developments are evolving in optical communications, microelectronics, intelligent controls, computers, radar, microwave communications, and innovative alternative energy sources at an explosive pace which should assure a solid growth pattern for electrical and computer engineers into the foreseeable future.

Co-op Program
Lyles College of Engineering's Electrical and Computer Engineering Department participates
in the Valley Industry Partnership (VIP) for Cooperative Education Program. VIP provides a rich, well rounded, educational experience for students majoring in civil,
computer, electrical, and mechanical engineering as well as construction management,
industrial technology, and computer science. This is done by providing the students
an opportunity to work in a real-world environment which integrates planned industrial experiences into academic programs. Students interested
in this program should contact the VIP directly.
