Change of Major

Complete MATH 75, MATH 76, and PHYS 4A with a grade of C or better and must have an overall GPA of 2.5.

Complete MATH 75, PHYS 4A, and ECE 1 with a grade of C or better and must have an overall GPA of 2.5.
Complete MATH 75 with a grade of C or better and must have a minimum GPA of B (3.0)
Please Note: Current Fresno State students wishing to change into a major in the Lyles College of Engineering must complete the courses listed above established by each program before submitting the Change of Major Form. We encourage students to meet with an Academic Advisor to review requirements and Change of Major Form/Process.
If you wish to change your major out of the Lyles College of Engineering, please contact and schedule an appointment with the respective college advising center based on your major of interest, or the University Advising Center if you wish to switch to "Undeclared."

Step 1: |
Meet with an advisor or department chair to discuss your interest in changing your major into the Lyles College of Engineering to review requirements, timeline expected to meet criteria and policy regarding the Change of Major process. |
Step 2: |
Complete courses and meet the criteria the department is asking for in order to request the Change of Major. |
Step 3: |
Schedule an Appointment with an Advisor to complete the Change of Major form and create a graduation plan that will include all pending graduation requirements. |
Step 4: | Submit the completed Change of Major Form to the department office your major corresponds to. They will route the form to collect electronic signatures via Adobe Sign. |
Step 5: |
Sign the form via Adobe Sign (check your email). |
Step 6: |
Confirm with each department office if you need to submit the form to the University Registrar’s Office or if they will route it to them. |
Your record will be updated to reflect your new major once the Registrar's office receives and processes the signed form.
Note: Newly admitted students CAN NOT change major/minor until after 20th day of instruction (Census Date)
