- Raise awareness of railroading education/profession among K-12 students in the local community

Meet the team
John Green, PhD, PE
Adjunct Professor
Expertise: Railways and transits
Dr. John Green has more than 25 years of experience in Civil Engineering, primarily in railroading, with his career starting at the Illinois Central Railroad, and including time as a Field Engineer with the CN Railway, but also including projects with highways, traffic studies, parking facilities, and traffic signals.
Ching Chiaw Choo, PhD, PE
Associate Professor
Expertise: Structural Concrete
Dr. Ching Chiaw Choo’s research involves transportation infrastructures; rehabilitations of structural systems and components, structural modeling, fiber-reinforced polymers for structural applications, seismic analysis of structural systems, and structural health monitoring.
Visiting CA’s High-Speed Rail Construction Sites
In collaboration with CAHSR regional Fresno office, Drs. John Green and Ching Chiaw Choo conducted a field trip with a group of 13 students, visiting three CAHSR construction sites.
