Mathematics Engineering Science Achievement (MESA)
Students
Are you new to MESA? MESA is a program that teaches students like you about math, science, and engineering through hands-on projects, competitions, and field trips. It can also help you plan for college and make sure you take the necessary classes and tests to get there.
Last year, MESA students worked with their classmates to build mousetrap cars and gliders, create websites, give speeches, and much more. They also got to travel to places like Catalina Island to study the ecosystem. They competed in Regional MESA Day at Fresno State. At the end of the year, we honored our students, advisors, and schools at the annual Awards Banquet. While many students received awards, we especially highlighted our seniors and 8th Graders for their many accomplishments.
If you're returning to MESA, we know you're familiar with a lot of the MESA projects. In addition to some of your favorite activities from last year, we also have a few new things planned this year:
- Regional MESA Day is at UC Santa Cruz this year, so we're looking forward to checking out the campus while winning a few medals!
- We'll offer more opportunities access MESA online, mainly through the OnlineU [broken link]. If you're not able to attend regular MESA meetings- or if you're just looking for additional help with a MESA Day project- the OnlineU is for you!
We'll also continue to help you explore different colleges and majors, as well as careers in math, engineering, and science. Check out the links to the left for more information on MESA, college, and more!
